Imperial College London’s Air Quality Measurement team recently finalised their report on the air quality data collection element of the London Wood Burning project, a Defra grant funded project led by the London Boroughs of Camden and Islington working with 16 other London boroughs.
The study included measurements inside and outside homes where wood or other solid-fuel is burned, looking at variations between different fuels and appliance types. Portable measurements were made on two transects in London that identified wood and solid-fuel burning hotspots. Measurements from fixed sites with advanced instrumentation were analysed to provide information about wood and solid-fuel burning, considered to be representative of the wider urban area.
Further details and a link to the full report can be found here.
