We welcomed a new Westminster site to the LAQN recently. The road-side site, measuring NOx and PM2.5, opened on the 27th April 2020. It is located at Elizabeth Br, Victoria. less than 100m east of Victoria Coach Station. The location was chosen to assess the effects of a scheme being introduced by Westminster Council to encourage coaches to park in bays close to the station, before entering, to reduce circulation of traffic.

In addition, it is hoped the site will provide measurements, to assess the effects, as an increasing number of coaches meet tighter emissions standards and of air quality improvements resulting from London-wide policies such as the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ).

In total six sites operated by Westminster are part of the LAQN. We are sure this site will make a valuable contribution to the network and are pleased to welcome it. Data from Elizabeth Bridge and all LAQN sites is available at www.londonair.org.uk.
