Breathe London network launch

After an intensive period of work over the last few months, ERG are delighted to have established the foundation of the Breathe London network for the Mayor of London.

Starting with a new network of Breathe London Nodes at hospitals and schools, the Breathe London network presents an incredible opportunity to engage citizens, community groups and business alongside boroughs in monitoring and improving London's air quality as never before.

Professor Frank Kelly, Director of ERG and the Humphrey Battcock Chair in Community Health and Policy at Imperial said:

The Breathe London sensor network is rapidly taking shape after intensive work over the past two months by our team at Imperial. The necessary data transfer and quality control systems have been put in place and nodes at hospitals across the city are already providing near real time air quality data via the new Breathe London website. The next stage of the project will see schools and local communities benefiting from this expanding network of sensors as we supply real time air quality information to more and more Londoners.

In the summer we'll be opening up the network to boroughs, businesses, community groups and anyone with a passion for improving air quality in the capital.
