On 1st July 2020 the Environmental Research Group will transfer from King's to Imperial College London.
The Environmental Research Group has grown considerably since it started at King's College London in 1998, successfully building a reputation as leading air pollution and health specialists in the UK. The relocation to the new Michael Uren Biomedical Engineering Research Hub at Imperial College London's White City campus will provide ERG with bespoke space for further expansion and development, including modern laboratory and engineering facilities, a data visualisation suite and new IT systems.
ERG has partnered with colleagues from Imperial's School of Public Health for the past decade via the joint MRC Centre for Environment and Health and the NIHR funded Health Protection Research Unit in Health Impact of Environmental Hazards. The move will allow the formation of a more cohesive unit at Imperial, paving the way for expansion in future iterations of the Centre.
As such this relocation provides ERG with the opportunity to enhance its services, research and education portfolio and ultimately to have an even greater impact on the health of the population, both nationally and internationally.
During July our IT systems will migrate to new facilities at Imperial though our laboratory work and fieldwork operations will continue to be based in King's buildings for a time.
By early 2021 all staff will be housed in purpose-built offices and laboratories at Imperial's new White City Campus. We look forward to welcoming you there.
